Front & Back Covers
At last - all the lighthouses, light towers and light ships of the Hudson River, New York/New Jersey Harbor and Long Island, including Long Island Sound, are collected in one book.
Author Jim Crowley, a professional photographer and avid lighhouse fan, photographed the lighthouses and collected their history and interesting facts in this comprehensive tour of New York's sentinels.
Each of the existing 45 lights is represented in a full-page B&W photo which faces a page of descriptive text, and additional archive photos were used to illustrate their changes over the years.
Complete access and contact information is provided for those who are more than "armchair travelers" and wish to view and/or visit these historic landmarks.
Rounding out the book is a section of illustrated lighthouse history and lore, covering the origins and early life saving techniques used by the forerunner of the United States Coast Guard. The famous, the hidden and the long-forgotten . . . all gathered in this beautiful oversized maritime history of New York State lighthouses.

Before sending any reviews please read through the guide set out on REVIEWS

Reviews are very special but never carried out by the so called (OFFICIAL CRITICS). In fact they are covered by (YOU THE READER.)
If you have obtained any book on lighthouses, maritime or shipping ect., which is still available, then send in your appraisal of the publication.
However we will not make note of any spelling mistakes, (this shows the book was authored by a human being). But contents, value for money, entertainment and how well you feel the book was researched prior to being published are the things other people would need to know.
Also as the author of any of these books, say your bit in the Right to Reply Section
When sending a review you do not need to put your name and most certainly NO ADDRESS. However you do need to send it where you see the REVIEW button.
As the author click on this AUTHOR button.
Publishers are also very welcome to add their information, but remember we will enter the relative details as you provide them. However do not make your entry too big. Also advanced book covers are needed where ever possible. PUBLISHERS

Hope Farm Press & Bookshop
This business was founded in 1959 as a mail-order and walk-in bookshop in the remote Catskill Mountain community of Cornwallville, by retiring New York City librarian Charles Dornbusch.
It was then purchased by Richard Frisbie following the death of Charles Dornbusch in 1990.
Prior to this Richard owned a used book store called Booktrader. Hope Farm Press & Bookshop was already his largest supplier of regional interest books.
Today Richard catalogues and stocks 2500 in-print books on New York State, of which 38 are titles he has published. There are also 50+ are titles that is company distributes.
In addition, there is a larger selection of out-of-print NY interest books, and a full bookshop of general used reading editions open everyday on the Main Street of his hometown. Unfortunately, only the new New York State books are on his extensive web site of NY history and genealogy.
However he does have a fully functional search facility for finding that special book.
