Rounding out the book is a section of illustrated lighthouse history and lore, covering the origins and early life saving techniques used by the forerunner of the United States Coast Guard. This business was founded in 1959 as a mail-order and walk-in bookshop in the remote Catskill Mountain community of Cornwallville, by retiring New York City librarian Charles Dornbusch.
It was then purchased by Richard Frisbie following the death of Charles Dornbusch in 1990.
Prior to this Richard owned a used book store called Booktrader. Hope Farm Press & Bookshop was already his largest supplier of regional interest books.
Today Richard catalogues and stocks 2500 in-print books on New York State, of which 38 are titles he has published. There are also 50+ are titles that is company distributes.
In addition, there is a larger selection of out-of-print NY interest books, and a full bookshop of general used reading editions open everyday on the Main Street of his hometown. Unfortunately, only the new New York State books are on his extensive web site of NY history and genealogy.
However he does have a fully functional search facility for finding that special book.
